Strengthening Almaty’s Position as an Aviation Hub: Askhat Khassenov and Goker Kose Discuss the Development of Airport Infrastructure
Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC KazMunayGas, Askhat Khassenov, held a working meeting with the President of JSC Almaty International Airport, Goker Kose.
During the meeting, the parties discussed current cooperation and future prospects in the field of aviation fuel supply, as well as issues related to the modernization and expansion of the fuel infrastructure at Almaty Airport. Particular attention was paid to ensuring uninterrupted aviation fuel supplies in light of growing passenger traffic and the increasing number of international and transit flights.
The importance of systematic coordination among market participants was emphasized to enhance operational efficiency, implement modern standards for aviation fuel storage and refueling, and create conditions for further increasing the airport’s capacity.
The Chairman of KazMunayGas noted that the development of aviation fuel infrastructure is directly linked to the implementation of the strategic objectives set by the Head of State to build competitive aviation hubs in Kazakhstan and strengthen the country’s transit potential.
In this context, improving the reliability of logistics chains and building a modern infrastructure base that meets international safety and quality standards remain key priorities. Cooperation between KazMunayGas and TAV Airports Holding, established with the support of the Government, has already made it possible to reduce aviation fuel prices for foreign airlines, thereby strengthening the airport’s competitive position and enhancing its attractiveness for international carriers.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue improving aviation fuel supply mechanisms and to carry out phased modernization of the fueling infrastructure, further reinforcing Almaty’s position as Central Asia’s largest aviation hub.
