KazMunayGas and TAV Airports Holding Expand Strategic Partnership
Today in Astana, a meeting took place between Askhat Khassenov, Chairman of the Management Board of KazMunayGas, and Serkan Kaptan, Chief Executive Officer of TAV Airports Holding. The talks served as a logical continuation of the dialogue previously initiated between the head of KMG and Goker Kose, President of Almaty International Airport.
Mr. Khassenov expressed his appreciation to the management of TAV Group for the constructive start of cooperation at Kazakhstan’s largest aviation hub — Almaty International Airport.
During the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the partnership and advancing to new stages of cooperation.
A key vector for expanding collaboration is the potential involvement of KMG’s subsidiary, KazMunayGas-Aero, in the modernization and development of the airport’s fuel and refueling complex.
This cooperation model offers a number of strategic advantages for the airport. In particular, it envisages large-scale reconstruction of fuel storage and refueling infrastructure in line with international standards, as well as the introduction of automated systems for fuel accounting and control at all stages of fuel operations.
The partnership with the national operator KazMunayGas-Aero will enable TAV Airports Holding to focus on the development of terminal infrastructure and the enhancement of passenger service quality.
Background:
TAV Airports Holding is a leading global airport operator managing 15 airports across 8 countries. Since 2021, the company has been the principal shareholder of Almaty International Airport.
