Dinara Boltaeva and Nurlybek Sabyrov, employees of KazMunayGas-Aero LLP, have been practicing “Togyz kumalak” at a professional level since high school. Both Dinara and Nurlybek are winners of regional and republican competitions. They are also winners in the annual spartakiade among the KMG Group of Companies. “One of the oldest Kazakh national games is the game “Togyz kumalak”. “Togyz kumalak” is a board game of logic and wit designed to develop logical mathematical thinking and stamina. The game is based not only on the speed of counting, but also on tactics,” says Dinara Boltaeva, accountant at KazMunayGas-Aero LLP. “According to the rules of the Kazakh game “Togyz Kumalak”, two players each have 9 holes on the board. The main task of the game is to shift pebbles in the game holes and collect as many of them as possible into your “cauldron”,” adds Nurlybek Sabyrov, Marketing Service Manager of KazMunaiGas-Aero LLP. The game “Togyz kumalak” could last four to five hours. Togyz kumalak” is still popular nowadays and the number of its admirers is gradually growing every year.
