Since January, the price of jet fuel for foreign air carriers in Kazakhstan has been reduced to approximately USD 930–1,000 per metric ton of aviation fuel, whereas previously the price reached USD 1,200 per ton.
This measure is aimed at enhancing the country’s transit attractiveness and supporting the development of Kazakhstan as a regional aviation hub. Jet fuel supplies for international airlines are provided by KazMunayGas-Aero, a subsidiary of JSC NC KazMunayGas.
Currently, KazMunayGas-Aero has direct “into-plane” fueling contracts with a number of leading international airlines, including Turkish Airlines, Turkish Cargo, FlyDubai, Red Sea, Air Cairo, Somon Air, FlyMeta, and Silk Way West Airlines.
The unified and lower jet fuel price is expected to make it possible to attract major airlines, including Lufthansa, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Air China, as well as leading global cargo operators, to Kazakhstani airports.
This measure is being implemented within the framework of the government’s systematic policy to create a transparent and predictable jet fuel market.
