Transit Development: Turkish Airlines Increases the Number of Cargo Flights via Almaty Airport

KazMunayGas-Aero LLP has signed an agreement with Turkish Airlines for into plane aircraft refuelling services at Almaty Airport. The agreement covers servicing of both passenger and cargo flights operated by the airline.

The reached agreements became possible due to the systematic reduction of aviation fuel costs in Kazakhstan for international air carriers, as well as coordinated efforts of the Government, Almaty Airport, and the specialized operator KazMunayGas-Aero.

The decision by Turkish Airlines to increase the number of cargo flights via Almaty Airport will enable growth in cargo transportation volumes and strengthen the airport’s role as a key international aviation and logistics hub.

The implemented measures are part of consistent efforts to fulfill the instructions of the Head of State aimed at developing the country’s transport and logistics potential, enhancing the competitiveness of domestic airports, and creating favorable conditions for attracting foreign airlines.

KMG-Aero continues its systematic work to expand cooperation with leading international carriers and to establish transparent, stable, and competitive conditions for aviation fuel supply at the country’s airports.

Turkish Airlines is the national flag carrier of Türkiye. The airline operates regular flights to 131 countries, holding a world record for the number of international destinations served. The Turkish Airlines fleet comprises approximately 500 aircraft. Its cargo division, Turkish Cargo, is among the global industry leaders and serves more than 340 destinations worldwide.
