The management of LLP “KazMunayGas-Aero” held a meeting in Astana with representatives of the international cargo airline Cargolux. Following productive discussions, the parties agreed to increase the frequency of Cargolux’s cargo flights through Astana International Airport.
Increased cooperation further solidifies Kazakhstan’s role as Central Asia’s primary transport and logistics hub. This effort aligns with the President of Kazakhstan’s mandate to increase the country’s transit and transport potential and attract global cargo.
LLP “KazMunayGas-Aero” is increasing its aviation fuel supplies for “into-plane” refueling services in response to increased transportation volumes. Planned refueling volumes are 5,000 tons in June, 7,000 tons in July, and are expected to reach up to 10,000 tons in August of the current year.
Discussions during the negotiations also covered the potential for expanding Cargolux’s route network through Kazakhstan’s regional airports. These plans, once implemented, will enhance the country’s transit capacity, improve aviation infrastructure utilization, and support regional economic development.
The progressive growth in the footprint of a major international air freight operator serves as a testament to the high demand for the Kazakhstan route and our country’s burgeoning importance within the Europe-Asia supply chains.
