Amirbek Niyazovich is a man with a great life and professional experience. He fell in love with aviation since school in the Soviet years, when he started working part-time as a signalman at the local airfield. He still remembers the first flight on AN-2 (corncracker), when he was specially taken for a ride on the airplane by the commander of the ship. At that time corn planes were engaged in pollination of agricultural fields, as well as passenger transportation. Then he was fond of airplane modeling, collected airplanes, gliders with his own hands, launched airplanes with engines into the sky. Then there was the army, after which he entered the Aktobe Training Unit (ATU) №30 of the Kazakh Civil Aviation Administration (KUGA). Amirbek Mukhambetov qualified as an aviation technician at the Aktobe ATU.
He worked with different airplanes – besides An-2 there were Li-2, Il-14 and Yak-12, and also carried out maintenance of helicopters, transport vessels. All these years he served honestly and conscientiously in aviation, regularly took advanced training courses at the Academy of Civil Aviation in Almaty. After the collapse of the USSR, in the late 90’s had to retrain as an aircraft maintenance technician. Our hero is an incredibly modest man, an handyman, a true professional of his work. He often had to fly together with flight crews on various urgent calls to remote settlements of oil workers.
