KazMunayGas-Aero LLP (KMG-Aero), a subsidiary of KazMunayGas NC JSC, has signed an agreement with US-based National Airlines to provide into-plane refuelling services. The first flight under the agreement, a Boeing 777 freighter operating on the Hong Kong–Turkistan–Amsterdam route, was serviced at Turkistan International Airport on 16 October 2026.
The agreement covers the airports where KMG-Aero operates: Astana, Almaty, Karaganda, Shymkent and Turkistan. This enables the airline to plan stopovers at different locations across Kazakhstan while relying on a single fuel supplier.
For cargo airlines operating long-haul routes through Central Asia, reliable fuel supplies and consistent fuel quality at intermediate stopover airports are essential. The start of cooperation with a major US cargo carrier marks another step towards expanding KMG-Aero’s international customer base and strengthening the position of Kazakhstan’s airports on the global air cargo network.
Turkistan International Airport has modern infrastructure that meets international standards and is equipped to handle growing cargo volumes in the south of Kazakhstan. Attracting new international carriers further enhances the region’s transit potential.
These efforts form part of systematic measures to develop Kazakhstan’s transport and logistics sector and strengthen the country’s role as a reliable Eurasian aviation hub, in line with the instructions of the President of the country.
KMG-Aero plans to further expand cooperation with international airlines. The company currently provides services to around 50 foreign carriers.
