JSC NC «KazMunayGas» (KMG) is actively supporting the national environmental initiative of the President of Kazakhstan, Taza Kazakhstan.
Today, the official opening ceremony of KazMunayGas Park (ҚазМұнайГаз саябағы) took place in Astana. More than 1,300 trees have already been planted in the park. Further comprehensive landscaping and greening works are planned for the entire 3.5-hectare area. The park is located in the Nurinsky District of the capital, near the Gharish Sapary complex on Turan Street. The site was designated by the city administration as a landscaping and greening zone within the framework of efforts to improve the environmental situation and enhance the quality of the urban environment.
«The opening of KazMunayGas Park is part of the company’s large-scale environmental efforts,» said Askhat Khasenov, CEO of KazMunayGas. «As is well known, KMG is an active participant in the Taza Kazakhstan initiative: over the past few years, more than 300,000 trees have been planted across the country. In addition, KazMunayGas has carried out large-scale reforestation works in the Auliekol District of the Kostanay Region, which was affected by wildfires. On an area of 22 hectares, 150,000 pine seedlings were planted.»
In 2025, KazMunayGas plans to plant a total of 109,000 trees in the regions where it operates, of which around 40,000 have already been planted. Special attention is being given to creating new green zones in cities and towns, as well as landscaping areas around oil fields and production facilities of KMG subsidiaries.
Since the beginning of 2025, the KazMunayGas Group has been successfully implementing its environmental program. To date, 270 community clean-up events (subbotniks) have been held, involving more than 8,900 participants and resulting in the collection of over 5,700 bags of waste. This work will continue on a regular basis.
On 18 October 2025, all KMG subsidiaries and affiliates took part in clean-up events, planting trees in their respective regions of operation.
