Jet A – 1

February 6, 2024 employees of KazMunaiGas-Aero LLP visited refineries of the People’s Republic of China as part of a working group on the transition to Jet A-1 jet fuel. The working group was formed on the initiative of the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan M. Karabayev, from among the employees of KazMunaiGas-Aero LLP, Almaty International Airport JSC, PTC Holding LLP, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC and PetroChina International Kazakhstan.

As part of the visit, meetings were held with the management of PetroChina International, as well as with the management of refineries PetroChina Dushanzi Petrochemical Company, PetroChina Karamay Petrochemical Company, PetroChina Urumqi Petrochemical Company. At these meetings the issues of Jet A-1 jet fuel production were discussed, as well as the availability of technical and legal possibility of Chinese refineries to export jet fuel to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

“The Kazakh delegation was familiarized with the Chinese standards of jet fuel production, showed the factory laboratories, as well as installations for the production of jet fuel brand Jet A-1. As a result of working meetings were discussed issues in terms of technical possibilities of transportation of jet fuel, as well as legal aspects of the legislation of the two countries. Both parties expressed interest in further development of cooperation”, – says Gani Baimyshev, Chief Expert of the Business Development Department of KazMunaiGas-Aero LLP.
