From May 12-15, 2025, the IATA Aviation Energy Forum took place in Baku, Azerbaijan. This international forum serves as one of the key platforms for discussing fuel supply development in civil aviation. The event gathered representatives from international and national airlines, aviation fuel suppliers, trading companies, and other key stakeholders across the industry.
On behalf of KMG-Aero LLP, Mr. Temirlan Shekimov, Head of Business Development, delivered a presentation titled “Prospects for the Implementation of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in the Republic of Kazakhstan.”
During his speech, Mr. Shekimov outlined the current status of the SAF development project, including:
• The completion of a preliminary feasibility study and analysis of SAF integration potential within the national aviation sector;
• The launch of a detailed feasibility study phase utilizing Alcohol-to-Jet (AtJ) technology, in partnership with international companies LanzaJet and BioOperations.
Throughout the forum, KMG-Aero also held several working meetings with existing partners and conducted negotiations with potential counterparts to explore opportunities for cooperation in aviation fuel supply and the deployment of sustainable energy solutions.
